2025.12.1609:00:00UTC+00Eurozone Services PMI Dips to 52.6 in December, Reflecting Slower Growth

The Eurozone Services Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) experienced a slight decline in December 2025, confirming a period of slower growth for the sector. According to the latest data released on December 16, 2025, the Services PMI dropped from 53.6 in November to 52.6 this month. This marks a decrease of one point, indicating a continued, albeit slower, expansion in the services sector across the Eurozone.

The PMI figures, published by HCOB, suggest that while the sector is still expanding (as figures above 50 indicate growth), there is a noticeable reduction in the pace compared to the previous month. Analysts attribute this deceleration to a combination of factors affecting consumer confidence and spending across Europe, amid ongoing inflationary pressures and geopolitical uncertainties.

Economists will be closely monitoring upcoming data and business sentiment across member states to better assess the trajectory of the Eurozone's economy. With the holiday season concluding and 2026 on the horizon, policymakers and market leaders are evaluating strategies to revive momentum in an integral part of Europe's economic framework.
