The Czech Republic’s producer price index (PPI) rose 0.4% month-over-month in August 2026, a slight acceleration from July’s 0.3% increase, according to data updated on 16 September 2026. The figures indicate a modest pickup in price pressures at the factory gate, which can eventually feed into consumer inflation.

On a month-over-month basis, the August reading reflects a stronger pace of producer price growth compared with the previous month, when the 0.3% PPI increase in July was measured against June. The August 0.4% rise is likewise calculated relative to July, in line with the standard methodology where the “actual” shows the change for the reported month versus the prior month, and the “previous” captures the prior month’s change versus the month before it.

While the move from 0.3% to 0.4% is incremental, the upward shift underscores that cost pressures for Czech producers continued to build over the late summer period, with potential implications for corporate margins and future consumer price developments if these higher input costs are passed on.
